SLC-IT started an Interpretation Centre in 2012 for students who are not part of the Ri-Gyancha program, but are keen on learning more about Ladakh’s wildlife and ecology. The Centre includes information on birds, mammals, plants and various ecosystems of Ladakh. The centre is also a great source of information for local people, tourists and the military. Occasionally, we also screen documentary films on Ladakh's nature and wildlife. Furthermore, it has on display the pugmarks of various carnivores found in Ladakh. Seeds of various domesticated plants and agricultural implements used by farmers are also on display. Finally, there are exhibits of professional equipment such as camera traps, spotting scopes, range finders and so on, that SLC-IT uses to carry out its field research.
